You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out
There’s a lot of pressure in life to know what comes next.
To have a plan.
To make the right decision.
To know where you’re going and exactly how you’re going to get there.
But the truth is, most of us don’t have it all figured out.
And maybe we’re not supposed to.
Sometimes life changes without warning. The plans we were certain about no longer fit. A door closes. A relationship changes. A career ends. Our priorities shift. Or we simply realize that the life we thought we wanted doesn’t feel right anymore.
Those moments can leave us wondering what comes next.
But not knowing doesn’t mean you’re lost.
Sometimes it simply means you’re in between who you were and who you’re becoming.
There Is Strength in the In-Between
We tend to celebrate the obvious moments.
The new job.
The finished project.
The big decision.
The fresh start.
We don't talk nearly as much about the space before those things happen.
The waiting.
The questioning.
The days when you're doing your best but still aren't sure where you're headed.
Those seasons require a different kind of strength.
Not the strength that comes from having all the answers, but the strength to keep moving while some of the answers are still unclear.
You Only Need the Next Step
One thing I've learned is that trying to figure out everything at once can make the road ahead feel much bigger than it actually is.
Sometimes you don't need a five-year plan.
You just need to know what you're going to do today.
Maybe today means making the phone call you've been avoiding.
Maybe it means finally starting something you've been thinking about.
Maybe it means resting.
Maybe it means admitting that something isn't working anymore.
And sometimes the next step is simply giving yourself a little more time before deciding.
Small steps don't always feel significant while we're taking them.
But eventually, we look back and realize they changed our direction completely.
Changing Your Mind Isn't Failure
We're allowed to change.
We're allowed to outgrow things.
We're allowed to decide that something we once wanted isn't what we want anymore.
There can be a tendency to stay on a path simply because we've already invested so much time in it.
But resilience isn't about stubbornly continuing in the same direction.
Sometimes resilience means recognizing when it's time to choose another one.
There's courage in beginning again.
There's also courage in saying, I don't know what's next yet.
Give Yourself Room to Become
At Be Resilient, we talk a lot about quiet strength because I believe some of the strongest things we do happen when nobody else is watching.
Choosing to try again.
Changing direction.
Giving ourselves permission to rest.
Taking one small step when the entire road isn't visible.
Those things rarely look remarkable from the outside.
But they matter.
You don't have to know exactly where you're going to trust that you're still moving forward.
You don't have to have every answer today.
And you certainly don't have to have your entire life figured out.
Sometimes the next chapter begins before we even realize we've turned the page.
Keep going. One day, one decision, one step at a time.
